Subject: Re: Dr. John McArthur Exposed by one of his own

Robert,

I know you and I have disagreed to the point of BOTH of us becoming angry, but this email about John McArthur being purpose driven struck a chord in me. I began with skepticism because his preaching never reflects this sort of thing. However, the inconsistencies in the peripheral things in his ministry bother me very much.

I think you and I are pursuing the same thing and since God humbled me at the end of August and the first part of September with the reoccurrence of seizures that resulted in me not being able to drive and many other things, I have reevaluated my ministry and realized that the last six months or so leading up to that, I was blind to many things. It was as if God has removed that spiritual blindness more and more as I have submitted to His will in all parts of my life.

Please forgive me for my harshness in dealing with you brother. I am reformed in my faith because I know that God is Sovereign so I think you and I will have to disagree there, but other than that, we are pursuing the same thing, which is the repentance of the Church as we prepare for the last of the last days, which seem to be coming upon us very quickly.

Mike I cannot tell you how happy I am to hear from you! You cannot understand, when you wrote, I was sure it would be "take me off your list", I am so please to know that my guess, in my own imagination was wrong. I am not someone who can say what I mean in sound bites, I am who I am and I don't know how to be different. If you were to ask me two years ago, I would have told you that I was reformed, I do believe a good deal of what Calvin taught, everything that happened in the reformation was not bad, much was good, so don't think that we disagree on everything in that regard. I truly do want us to be nothing that Christ may be our all in all, everything, I do believe that it is the work of God in our day to make all men liars and God be true. If this is where you are now, then you are truly a blessed man, I believe this happend to me as well, that we may know him in the power of his resurrection and that no flesh should glory in his presence. Please keep in touch and may the Lord Jesus bring you to glory, as he said it was his desire.

Amen Robert.

We are most definitely on the same page. Elevating men is idolatry. We must pray for God to keep us from this. I believe that is what He is doing with you and I.

I will be offline for the next week or so as I travel, but when I get back, I intend to get back to this drawing of God's people back to the Word and to the Lord as their all.
